The Galleon Centre provides facilities for all the family this includes not only swimming but an ice rink, bowling hall, two sports halls, squash courts, a sauna/solarium suite, a superb fitness room, youth activity programmes for 3-15 years old and two bars. It is a complex for the whole family to enjoy. The centre is open from 7am Monday – Friday, 8am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday. 

There are approximately 40 fitness and aerobic classes held for varying fitness levels and ages.

Aerobics, Step, Box-A-Cise and Tums, Bums and Thighs are all included in the Gold and Corporate Membership.

 Their Excell fitness suite has around 60 items of equipment for both cardiovascular and resistance. The fitness suite is supervised by a qualified instructor ensuring customers comfort and safety, where a personal fitness programme can be provided.

Ice Rink

The ice rinks present programme offers public skating, figure skating, ice hockey, curling and special events

The ice rink is split in to two seasons due to the nature of the sports     Summer April – August

Winter September – February

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool area offers comprehensive swimming lessons for beginners to competent levels, little dippers classes for 3 year olds and fun swims on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Activities

The Games Hall has a variety of  facilities to offer. Individual courts can be booked for badminton, short tennis, baton twirling and Tae-kwon-do practice. The whole Games Hall can be used for 5-a-side, volleyball, basketball, netball, uni-hoc and baseball, all equipment for these activities is available to hire.

Youth Activity Programme

There has been youth activity programmes offered for many years ice skating, karaokes, arts ‘n’ crafts and parachutes are only a few of the activities offered. They are split in to three age groups

Turtles 3-5years, Pirates 6-8years and Shipmates 8-15years

The Cordwainer Bar offers breakfast, lunches and dinner and The Bonspiel Bar is an ideal place for private parties and special events. There is also the Conference Suite and Function room available for hire.
